Goalkeeper Training In Woking

IMG-20130406-00350Goalkeeper Courses in Woking, what’s the difference?

What is the difference between goalkeeper training or coaching and goalkeeper courses?

Even though this is only a small difference, there is a difference, some goalkeeper schools run courses and the likes of Just4keepers goalkeeper schools, focus in training and coaching?

So what’s the difference between goalkeeper training or coaching and goalkeeper courses?

If a goalkeeping coaching school is stating that are running a ‘course’ this is generally over a set period, maybe a 6-8 week course or the popular choice with most coaching schools, a 2,3 or 5 day course normally held in the school holiday or half terms?

Goalkeeper Training In Berkshire

Goalkeeper Training In Berkshire

IMG-20130406-00350Goalkeeper Training In Berkshire

Hi there, more and more clubs and keepers are looking for goalkeeper coaching in Berkshire area. Why you ask?
Thank you for reading my page, within this page i would like to advice you on the goalkeeper schools up and running in Berkshire. Over the years lots of goalkeeper training in Berkshire has become available to goalkeepers of all ages. The problem is finding the right goalkeeper training for your keeper. There are lots of schools saying they can get keepers trails at pro clubs and charging lots of money. I have seen and heard about lots of GK training in Berkshire and would advise keepers it does not have to cost the earth and have fun while you learn.

IMG-20130406-00349Goalkeepers are such a vital part of the team and need a constant level of training each week. Now we don’t mean stand them in goal and smash footballs at them as this could cause injury and a confidence knock. We mean specialised goalkeeper training to help improve areas of their keeping.
Goalkeepers need weekly training just like outfield players. I hope with this page i can advise coaches, parents and goalkeepers that they need to be trained on a regular basis by a top goalkeeper coach.

Goalkeeper Coaching In Molesey

Goalkeeper Coaching In Molesey

J4K new range picturesGoalkeeper Coaching in Molesey
Onto the technical side of dealing with a cross:

Firstly a goalkeeper should always start with looking at their feet as footwork is the key!! Can you sort your feet out quick enough to readjust to the ball, the best keepers at taking crosses are the most agile, athletic, quick, not just tall or big!!
So do drills in close and quick that will test the goalkeepers ability to assess the flight quickly and readjust feet accordingly, ( short, sharp, steps ) making sure that they take off from the correct foot ( outside knee protects ). Edge slowly backwards and keep changing the trajectory of the ball. Also dont just practice balls in front of the keeper. Work a lot on balls back over head, again start in close!

Basic technical detail:

Starting Position
Open Stance
Assess flight
Communication
Adjust feet
Take off from correct foot
Attack the ball at your highest and nearest point possible.
Decision? Catch/Punch??
Watch ball all the way to hands
Knee comes up for protection and to create power
Attack through the ball when possible, creating power and momentum.
Protect if caught.
If Dropped/Punched readjust back into protect goal.
orangeKITCommunication is a massive part of Goalkeeping and especially when it comes to dealing with crosses, and organising players around you. Short, sharp, loud and early!!
It is Vitally important that goalkeepers attack through the ball, not just get to it! Attacking through the ball creates all the power and momentum needed to withstand knocks or bumps on contact.
Balls back over head, work feet SIDE ON, short, sharp, fluent steps, Quick feet are vital and if stretching to catch go down with the ball to maintain safety and momentum through it.
If Collecting through a pack of players keep going through them, dont stop in the middle! this will enable you to see the whole picture in front and set the tempo for quick distribution.
To conclude, its great to watch goalkeepers who express themselves in games! Don’t be afraid of missing a few crosses especially in training as this will help you develop and learn. Stepping deeper into the goal will always make it harder not easier. so step forward, be bold, brave and reap the rewards!!

Winter Goalkeeper Gloves

Cold Weather Goalkeeper Gloves

pro-dualThis month again has not been the best for football and goalkeeping but i have found that the best goalkeeper gloves to keep your hands warm in this cold weather is the J4K Pro Dual

Why?

A lot of goalkeepers have found the 5mm palm and backhand are keeping the hands warmer than any normal goalkeeper glove. This makes the J4k Dual a great cold weather goalkeeper glove.

About The J4k Pro Dual
J4K PRO DUAL

Dual Palm means there is latex on both the inside and outside of the palm. This is a very unique feel and the inside latex helps your hands fit firmly in place within the glove. This is advantageous as you do not get any hand movement within your glove.
  • 3.5mm Mega Soft latex Palm
  • 1.5mm of smooth internal latex - this ’moulds’ to your hand
  • Fine mesh internal backhand for breathability and comfort
  • Latex external backhand with strategically placed grooves for improved punching control
  • Extra latex materials for padding and comfort for back hand
  • 8cm bandage wristband with new improved double wrap elasticated strap for increased support.

Goalkeeper Gloves for sale

Goalkeeper Gloves For Sale

Here we have The J4K 50/50 Hybrid goalkeeper glove, this goalkeeper glove is very durable and all our goalkeepers who wear this goalkeeper glove tend to stick with this glove when reordering.
yellow champ
Limited addition Yellow Hybrid Palm. (J4K is one of just a few GK brands that stock yellow palm gloves)
·         Hybrid – (Index and little finger are Roll Finger and two middle fingers are flat palm)
·         4MM Super Soft Yellow Palm
·         Super strength bandage Wrist support
·         Special mesh design, to allow hand to breath
·         Extra latex materials for padding and comfort for back hand
·         Durable glove palm, so ideal for grass root goalkeepers
·         EXTENDED PALM!!! (At no extra cost)

Please Remember: All our gloves are tried and tested by ex and professional goalkeepers!

Hybrid Cut is normally when the little finger and index finger of the glove is a Roll Finger and the middle two fingers are Negative Cut or Flat Palm. This is normally for keepers who have irregular shaped hands or fingers.
Now the above is just a rule of thumb, and too be honest the only way you will ever know what goalkeeper glove palm is right for your hand, is to not try them on.

Goalkeeper Training In Surrey

Goalkeeper Training In Surrey

J4K new range picturesHas all that white stuff on the ground gone?
I think so but now we are moving into the wet part of our football season. This time of year when it’s wet and very muddy, goalkeepers tend to wear the wrong goalkeeping equipment and can find themselves also becoming bogged down in goal.

At J4K goalkeeping training in Surrey I advise the long summer short winter rule. When the ground is hard either by ice or sunshine I say to wear long-sleeved tops, long bottoms or the J4K 3/4s. When the grounds soft and boggy and the temperature is not to low then shorts is advised as the wet and mud will not seep in to your legs but it will seep into and bog down padded bottoms.
camp_front

If the temperature is low and the ground is boggy and wet then ¾ bottoms are a happy medium. A lot of J4K goalkeepers in Surrey wear the J4K 3/4s, they are very good for doing goalkeeper training in.

I would also always advise to bring a spare pair of goalkeeper gloves, just in case your first pair becomes wet and cold

Goalkeeper Clothing

pro-dualGoalkeeping Clothing
This winter i have seen a lot of goalkeepers not wearing the right winter goalkeeper clothing, either at J4K training or at matches. Now i know and so do my mum and dad that being a goalkeeper can be expensive. The Goalkeeper Glove Shop and J4K are here to lower that cost.

A must have for goalkeepers is goalkeeper gloves…lol, is skins. Skins is a brand but also the name us footballers use for the tight like running shorts that are now available as a long sleeve tops and full length trouser. The bonus of these under skins are they can match your shorts to keep the ref happy. Where to find these skins at a good price? a clue is ask the newcastle chairman, I have found this the best place for skins but for FREE goalkeeper gloves check outwww.thegoalkeepergloveshop.co.uk

If our under skins is our foundation of our goalkeeper clothing, we can add to this the J4K 3/4 lengths, these are brilliant for keeping goalkeepers warm and protected in the winter. Plus they will not get boggy when its raining like some goalkeeper trousers can. “long summer, short winter”

The Goalkeeper glove Shop also do a goalkeeper glove which is very thick it has two palms and is called The J4K Pro Dual, these goalkeeper gloves will keeper goalkeepers hands protected when wet and also warm because they are twice as thick as our other goalkeeper gloves.

Match Goalkeeper Gloves

reaction
Match gloves

Whats the best match glove out there. I am ask this a lot, almost every week.
Goalkeepers now have so many gloves to chose from and with this brings high spec gloves (match gloves)
and lower spec gloves(training glove).

Now pro goalkeepers will wear match gloves for both matches and training as normally they are supplied or sponsored(click here for J4K Sponsorship).

So to save money most young keepers have a match pair and a training pair. Match pairs costing around £30 and training pairs costing around £15. Keepers normally train more than they play so training in match gloves will increase wear and will increase your costs. If a match pair is looked after they can last over 2 months (1 game a week).

pro-roll

The best match glove i have played in is the J4K Pro Roll and the top training glove has to be the J4K Reaction, these gloves are roll finger gloves and are pictured.
