After the program’s first three-game losing streak in six years the Bethel Wildcats bounced back with a three-game winning streak to close out their 2013 regular season with a 1-0 victory at Spring Hill College Saturday afternoon. An unassisted goal by Antonio Pereira in the 13th minute of play proved to be enough for the Cats to close out the campaign at 10-5-1 and 5-5-1 in the SSAC. SHC closed out their season at 6-11 and 3-8. Bethel’s Luke Edgecombe had eight saves in net.With the three wins to close out the season, Bethel finished sixth in the league and will face No. 3 seeded and No. 13th ranked Martin Methodist ( 11-3-1, 8-2-1) Nov. 9 in Pulaski. Game time has been set for 2:30 p.m.
Martin Methodist beat the Wildcats 2-1 in McKenzie back in September.
