As the winter slowly takes over and our football pitches become a cold place to be, who is that guy standing there in a different top to the guys running around keeping warm?
No it’s not the ref! It’s a goalkeeper!
J4k tips to being a warm keeper this winter!
Clothing
Let's start from the bottom and work our way up,
Feet, a thin pair of socks under your football socks
Legs, skin tight running trousers under shorts or 3/4 lengths
Upper body, a skin tight heat top or another keeper top, always have 2 keeper tops so if it rains you can wear one each half
Hands, gloves from sports shops are thin so hands will get cold, a 4 mil roll finger glove keepers hands nice and warm, again 2 pair’s one for each half if it’s wet
Head, beanie hat
Now the best way to keep warm is keep involved with the game. Try and always be on the move, move with your team, this will keep concentration high and means fewer layers of clothes which help with movement.
